Reports can include a variety of metrics, which are listed below. If you are interested in information that is not part of one of those metrics, please contact us.
- App Store Overview
- The ‘Application Store Overview’ metric provides insight to the growth of each application store individually for each country and for each category. In addition to the size of each store, information relating to business models (number of free and paid applications that feature in-app purchases) and publishers (number of publishers that publish applications) is also included.
- Pricing
- The ‘Pricing’ metric provides a clear view of the listing prices in the catalogues as a whole, as well as a separate view of the most popular applications. This information can be used to identify pricing trends and consumer purchasing behavior.
- Top Applications
- The ‘Top Applications’ metric contains the most popular applications for each country individually, giving insight to the most popular content per country and continent. With the fields ‘Locally/Regionally Popular Application’ and ‘Locally/Regionally Unique Application’, content that is only available and/or popular in certain countries or continents can easily be extracted. The ‘Top Applications’ metric can also focus on new applications only, providing insight into the most successful new applications in each store.
- Top Publishers
- For the ‘Top Publishers’ metric, the popularity of all publishers’ applications is analyzed, resulting in a clear view of which publishers are most successful in each store, country and continent. The ‘Top Publishers’ metric can also focus on new publishers only, providing insight into the most successful new publishers in each store individually.
- Top Cross-Store Publishers & Apps
- Besides looking at the most successful applications and publishers in each store individually, the ‘Top Cross-store Publishers and Applications’ metric algorithmically matches publishers across stores, giving insight in the most successful publishers and applications in the entirety of the eco-system as a whole.
- Top Category Breakdown
- To analyze the trends in consumer content selection the ‘Top Category Breakdown’ metric is used. In this metric the categories where the most popular applications originate from are analyzed, giving insight into which categories are most successful in each store and country. This information is provided for the top free, top paid and top grossing applications, giving insight into which categories of applications are most popular as well as which are generating most revenue.
- Download Volumes & Business Models
- The ‘Download Volumes & Business Models’ metric uses aggregated transactional data collected using Distimo Monitor. This metric provides information on the number of downloads and revenue generated by the most popular applications, specifically for the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad, Mac App Store, Google Android Market and Windows Phone 7 Marketplace. This information can then be used to analyze the size of each store in different countries, the proportion of free versus paid downloads, the average selling price of the paid applications and the revenue generated by freemium and one-off paid applications.
- Downloads Per Weekday
- The ‘Downloads Per Day’ metric uses transactional data to provide insight in consumer purchasing behavior during each day of the week.
- Country Overlap
- The ‘Country Overlap & Unique Applications’ metric provides information on the extent of localization of application stores, both in terms of whether applications are locally available as well as whether applications are locally popular. Additionally, the metric provides a list of applications that are unique to the country, meaning that they are available for download in that country only.
- Application Shelf Life
- The ‘Application Shelf Life’ metric provides insight in the period of time the most popular applications remain popular.
