Our Paid Featured January 2012 reports offer deep insights into all major applications stores in North America, Europe and Asia. The reports will allow you to:

• Analyze the share of revenue generated by apps with in-app purchases in each region individually.

North American App Store Market (€399)

Countries: Data is aggregated over US, Mexico and Canada. Please note that because the Amazon Appstore is only available in the United States, data is included for this country only for this store.

European App Store Market (€399)

Countries: Data is aggregated over Spain, UK, France, Italy and Germany.

Asian App Store Market (€399)

Countries: Data is aggregated over China, Japan, India, Indonesia and Singapore. Please note that Indonesia and China are excluded from the aggregate data for Windows Phone 7.

Please note that numbers for BlackBerry App World are based on global data and Amazon data is U.S. only, but available in each regional report.

Report Delivery

Each individual paid featured report consists of a presentation in PDF format and an Excel file containing all data. The Excel files contain data for January 2012.

The PDF presentations include six slides that contain in-depth analyses of the data provided. Additionally, the ten most popular free and paid applications are provided for each application store, laid out over two slides for each individual store.

The Excel reports provide a significant dataset that can be used for further analysis, including the increase in download volumes resulting from being featured, information on the 300 most popular free and 300 most popular paid applications, and pricing levels for every category and store. Finally, the Excel reports provide data on the download volumes and business models used by the top grossing applications in the Apple App Store and Google Android Market.

Methodology

Distimo tracks both publicly as well as transactional data for supported application stores and countries. Data tracked includes, but is not limited to: application and publisher names, application prices, popularity and grossing ranks, releases, updates and ratings.

Besides tracking publicly available data, Distimo uses transactional data in an aggregated manner, collected from a wide variety of publishers using Distimo Monitor. Using sophisticated and proprietary algorithms, Distimo extracts valuable information from this data that is used by worldwide leading handset manufacturers, operators and developers to make well-informed decisions regarding mobile content and strategy.
